I have written copy for a variety of outlets, including the Gateway Pet Guardians blog and TAME Pet Magazine. Below are a few samples of different types, including research writing and creative writing.

TAME Pet Magazine | Pets Welcome

I helped research and wrote copy for this article titled “Pets Welcome!” in 2017. The goal of the feature was to provide a comprehensive list of pet-friendly (or rather, pet-encouraging) businesses and venues for pet owners and families to enjoy. Categories included restaurants/bars, breweries, wineries, frozen treats, lodging, recreation, and pet stores. I contributed to both editions of the magazine: the St. Louis edition and the Southwest Missouri edition.

TAME Pet Magazine | Animals and the Law

“In the eyes of the law, animals are seen to lack moral agency, or the ability to act with reference to right and wrong. Unlike humans, they are believed to lack higher-order thinking skills and cannot choose between courses of action. Their actions are driven by instincts and behaviors influenced by genetics and environment. For those reasons, many believe they do not or should not have rights…”

The following is a creative writing piece about my experience encountering an emaciated animal needing help. This dog, named Brennivin, stayed with me for nine months before being adopted by her new family. It was a very impactful experience rehabilitating her and showing her unconditional love.
