Today, we had the second of two presentations at the 2016 Focus on Teaching and Technology Conference at University of Missouri-St. Louis. The presentation was titled “Beyond the Talking Head: Creating Rich Multimedia Resources.” It demonstrated the tools available for digital content delivery, with a focus on developing quality multimedia resources for students. We explored how to create a library of digital student resources you can use again and again. Presenters included Janet Roberts, Melissa Childers, Tom James, and Shanna Seyer.
Digital content provides instructors opportunities for asynchronous, differentiated, and flipped learning. We demonstrated how our faculty have begun the process of organizing and developing audio and video resources that not only support student learning, but promote critical thinking and analysis. We provided an overview of free resources available for educators, new ways to use tools you’re already aware of, and provided examples of professional quality video resources developed with a university-funded studio.
