I’ve held the title of Online Course Developer for the School of Adult and Online Education at Maryville University for exactly one week now. The week has consisted of learning new software programs (Articulate and Storyline) and getting various accounts set up at the university. Needless to say it’s been very busy! I’ve already jumped into collaborating on the development of the Online Student Orientation course for new online students, and have done a few run-throughs of a Humanities course to get a feel for developing in Desire2Learn (although very similar to Blackboard, WebCT, and Moodle learning management systems, there are some significant differences). I also got my first assignment that should start next week – I will be developing an online BSN Completion program. I’m looking forward to what the next few months will bring!
